Associates of Arts with a focus in Early Childhood Education

The Associate of Arts Degree with a focus on Early Childhood Education is designed to prepare individuals to work with young children in a variety of public and private programs. Students pursuing an Associate of Arts degree with a focus on Early Childhood Education are provided with comprehensive courses that are based on children from birth through age eight. The study of research and theory is blended with many opportunities for hands-on experiences throughout the courses. Students who wish to earn a National CDA credential may complete the necessary coursework as part of the Associate of Arts Degree.

Students who successfully complete the AA degree program with education prerequisites may be eligible to articulate into a baccalaureate in education degree program.

General Education Requirements:

ENC 1101 - Composition I
ENC 1102 - Composition II
SPC 1017 - Fundamentals of Speech Communication
or
SPC 2023 - Introduction to Public Speaking
Humanities Electives to include 3 credits writing intensive 6 Credits

*Social Science Electives to include one WOH or EUH course 9 Credits

College Level Mathematics Electives 6 Credits

Natural Science Electives w/Lab 6 Credits
