POS 2141 - Urban Government and Politics 3 credits Prerequisites: POS 2112 with a grade of “C” or higher, or instructor approval This course is an introduction to the politics and functions of urban government using the local government as the laboratory for investigation. Students will interact with local government officials as they learn how government identifies community problems, allocates resources, prioritizes needs, addresses sustainability, and manages crises. Economic conditions, ethnicity, education, health care, affordable housing, environmental impact, and other issues will be featured.
