NUR 4827L - Leadership in Nursing Practicum 1 credit Prerequisites: Acceptance into the RN to BSN Program. Current valid, unencumbered, and unrestricted Florida RN license. Corequisites: NUR 4827 This course applies the theories, concepts, and underlying principles of management and leadership in health care delivery systems presented in NUR 4827 . The methods and interpersonal skills to become an effective nurse leader in various health care delivery systems are explored along with the concepts of professional organizations, decision making, power/authority, health care policy and finance, cost effectiveness, problem-solving/change strategies, evidence based practice, evaluation/quality improvement, inter-intra-professional communication and collaboration skills, and leader behaviors. This course includes 45 clinical hours with a student selected mentor/preceptor providing for the application of leadership concepts.
