NUR 2530 - Nursing for Clients with Major Mental Health Disorders - AS 1 credit Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Nursing Program Corequisites: NUR 2260 /NUR 2260L This third mental health course assists students in understanding dynamics of human behavior and acquiring knowledge of mental health concepts related to major mental health disorders, including Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia, and Substance Abuse. This course builds on mental health concepts taught in the first two courses in the series. Select mental health experiences and activities will be incorporated into NUR 2260L , Adult Nursing II Clinical, for Basic and Advanced Placement students. These clinical learning experiences will provide students with the opportunity to further develop their roles as provider of care, manager of care, and professional within the discipline of nursing. NUR 2530 may require students to utilize some basic computer skills and computer-assisted instruction.
