Purpose
The Associate in Science (AS) in Business Administration and Management program prepares students for further education and careers in entry level supervisory positions. The program emphasizes select theories and practices of management and decision-making. The AS equips students with the knowledge and understanding necessary for managing people and business functions.
One or more College Credit Certificates are associated with this AS degree.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Prepare, analyze, and utilize financial information to support strategic decision-making processes within a business context.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage and analyze business information using appropriate technological tools, enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Apply effective business communication strategies while integrating legal and ethical principles to navigate complex challenges in the modern business environment.
- Identify the role and function of human resources, demonstrate strategic organizational skills, and apply management principles to foster a productive business environment.
- Integrate foundational principles of business development and entrepreneurship to design and execute comprehensive marketing and promotional strategies for small businesses, utilizing effective selling techniques and management functions. (Business Development and Entrepreneurship Specialization)
- Evaluate and apply management principles and human relations skills to address the responsibilities and challenges at various levels of management, fostering effective organizational leadership and development. (Management Specialization)
- Apply insurance product and service knowledge, as well as understand employee compensation and benefits plans. (Insurance Specialization)

Graduation Requirements
Students must fulfill all requirements of their program to be eligible for graduation. All courses within the Program Requirements category must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.
