PHT 2810L - Clinical Practice II

This course involves student assignment to local clinical facility. Includes scheduled class meetings to review clinical performance objectives, the self-appraisal process, and overall requirements for this intermediate level practicum. Class discussions are held to share and discuss experiences, patient care problems, learning styles, cooperative group participation, acceptance and implementation of constructive criticism, etc. A clinical journal and an in-service are required. Weekly online discussion forums facilitate critical thinking, peer review, and managing clinical situations at the intermediate level. Students attend a personal conference with the academic coordinator of clinical education to discuss progress and to identify areas of strength/weakness with appropriate target dates and methods of amelioration, if needed. Students receive a satisfactory/fail grade.
