The Schools of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Pure and Applied Sciences are the home for Edison State College’s Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) and General Education program. A student’s successful educational experience of both establishes a foundation for lifelong learning and prepares students to be thoughtful, informed, global citizens. This experience fosters academic excellence, interdisciplinary dialog, respect for self and others, and social responsibility.
Mission
The mission of these schools, through the provision of the Associate in Arts Degree and the General Education Program embedded within it, is to prepare students to effectively demonstrate general education competencies and elective course learning outcomes for the purpose of enriching their program-related knowledge, expanding educational opportunities, and providing transferable and lifelong workplace skills.
Vision
The vision of the Schools of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Pure and Applied Sciences is to provide the highest quality academic learning opportunities for students in the areas of Communications, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences.
