MEA 1206C - Clinical Office Procedures I

Prerequisites: HSC 1531 , BSC 1085C , and HSA 1020 , all with a grade of “C” or better.
This course will provide skills and knowledge for the student to assist the practitioner with various aspects of the clinical practice. These skills will include: vitals, patient care, preparation for examination and procedures, treatments, patient coaching, nutrition and health, surgical procedures, medication administration, medical emergencies, and OSHA and blood-borne pathogen standards will be addressed. Content will include the study of ophthalmology and otolaryngology, dermatology, allergy and infectious disease. Students will administer EKGs to prepare and take the NHA’s Certified Echocardiography Technician (CET) credentialing exam.
