FFP 2120 - Building Construction for the Fire Service - AS 3 credits Prerequisites: FFP 1000 or higher with a grade of “C” or better, or current State of Florida Certified Firefighter II This course will provide students with an understanding of the complexities involved in building design and construction methods, and how they impact fire prevention, control, and firefighting operations. Students will learn how to assess fire risks associated with buildings, evaluate fire resistance, comprehend structural forces, understand the behavior of various construction materials during fires, and make informed decisions to improve fire prevention and control strategies.
