HUM 2211 - Studies in Humanities: The Ancient World Through the Medieval Period- (I) 3 credit(s) Prerequisite(s): Testing into ENC 1101; or completion of ENC 0025 and REA 0017 with a “C” or higher (and/or completion of former course numbers ENC 9020 or ENC 9021 with a “C” or higher and former course number REA 9003 with a “C” or higher); or EAP 1620 and EAP 1640 with a “C” or higher; or an eligible testing/course completion combination. Required: Writing intensive–a minimum of 4,000 words of instructor-evaluated writing per student This course is an interdisciplinary humanities course with a multicultural and global perspective. Drawing from the field of arts and letters, the course is a study of European culture from the prehistoric age through the end of the medieval period, as well as the cultures of Asia, Africa and the contemporary Americas. This course is termed a writing intensive course. If completed with a grade of “C” or better, this course serves to complete part of the writing intensive course requirements.
