EAP 1620 - English for Academic Purposes, Reading* 3 credits Prerequisites: EAP 1520 with a grade of “C” or better; testing; or permission of the Appropriate Academic Affairs Dean or Associate Dean This course is for students whose primary language is not American English and whose placement test scores show a need for instruction in “advanced” vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. The emphasis in the course will be on vocabulary development, developing academic literacy using authentic sources, and preparing students for college. Successful completion of this course requires a grade of “C” or better.
*Students may apply up to a maximum of 12 credit hours of EAP college-level credits toward a degree.
