MUC 2601 - Introduction to Songwriting

Prerequisites: MUT 1111 or MUT 1001 with a grade of “C” or better or by Theory Assessment on a case-by-case basis.
The craft and techniques of commercial songwriting. Through song analysis and construction, students will take a step-by-step approach in organizing the creative elements for song building, performing and demo recording. The discipline and business procedures of the profession of songwriting will also be explored.
