ENT 3172 - The Special Role of Franchising 3 credits Prerequisites: ENT 3003 - Entrepreneurship I with a grade of “C” or better; and prior to enrolling in any upper level course (course number beginning with a 3 or 4), students must complete the following courses with a grade of “C” or better: ENC 1101 English Composition I, ENC 1102 English Composition II, and three semester hours of college level mathematics; or permission from the appropriate academic Dean AND ENT 3003 Entrepreneurship I This course focuses on the special role of franchising as a form of entrepreneurship in the U.S. and international economies. Topics will include success rates of franchisors and franchisees, advantages and disadvantages of franchising, the process of franchising a business idea, and the process of selecting and working with a franchisor.
