COP 3655 - Application Development for Mobile Devices


3 credits
Prerequisites: (COP 1170 and COP 2171) or (COP 1224  and COP 2228) or (COP 2360  and COP 2362 ) all with a “C” or better 
This course covers the methods and tools utilized in the creation of native applications for mobile devices., using current technology. Students gain an understanding of the challenges associated with android specific development, how to overcome them and how to build an optimal user experience on the mobile platform. Students will sharpen mobile application design techniques, technical development skills, and mobile application deployment strategies. Students will get knowledge of practical native application design and direct utilization of hardware features such as GPS, cameras and storage as it applies to the android environment. This course offers students the ability to develop technical and analytical skills most appropriate for the creation of mobile applications.
