CNT 3504 - Computer Networks and Distributed Processing

3 credits
Prerequisites: CNT 1000
The study of integrated multi-medium communication networks, examining multiplexing schematics, switching circuit networks and packet switching networks. Communication traffic characterization, delay, blocking analysis and queuing network analysis will also be discussed. The course will also explore routing protocols, protocol architectures, network architectures, layered connection management, network design, path dimensioning, dynamic routing, flow control, and random access algorithms. Additionally, protocols for error control, signaling, addressing, fault management, and security control will be covered.
