MAN 4402 - Employment Laws and Regulations for Human Resources 3 credit(s) Prerequisite(s): Restricted to students with majors in Public Safety Administration or Supervision and Management.
Prior to enrolling in any upper level course (course number beginning with a 3 or 4), students must complete the following courses with a grade of “C” or better: ENC 1101 English Composition I, ENC 1102 English Composition II, and three semester hours of college level mathematics; or permission from the appropriate academic dean. This course analyzes the federal and state regulation of the employment relationship, including wage and hour laws; EEO; and Affirmative Action programs. Students will address human resource issues such as: employee benefits, insurance, workers’ compensation, safety, health, employees’ personal rights, and collective bargaining legislation.
