EMS 2119 - Fundamentals of Emergency Medical Care-AS

Prerequisite(s): Acceptance to the EMT-BASIC Program
Co-requisite(s): EMS 2119L, EMS 2421, EMS 2411 must be taken in the same semester and on the same campus
This course prepares students for employment as Emergency Medical Technicians. It is an introductory survey of emergency medical services, including but not limited to: preparatory, airway and double lumen device, patient assessment, medical behavioral emergencies, obstetrics/gynecology, trauma, infants and children, geriatrics, and operations. Upon successful completion of EMS 2119, EMS 2119L, EMS 2421, and EMS 2411, students will receive a certificate of program completion, allowing them to apply for the National Registry of EMT exam and the Florida State EMT-B certification.
